;)When my son was about 8, he saw this recipe being made on one of the cooking shows. He threw a fit until I went to the store and got the stuff to fix it. Turned out to be one of his favorites.
Grilled Bananas
1 banana for each serving sugar or brown sugar butter or margarine softened cinammon - optional
Hold the banana where it curves up. Slice the peel lengthwise down the inside of the curve. Spread open the peel and spread butter or margarine down the length of the banana. use atleast a tablespoon per banana. Sprinkle with atleast a tablespoon or two of sugar or brown sugar. A dash of cinnamon would be optional and per taste. fold the peel back together the best you can and wrap the banana in foil and grill on the BBQ grill until soft. Do this with each banana for each serving. To serve just peel back the foil and the banana peel. The sugar and butter make a syrupy or caramel type sauce. Can be eaten from the foil and peel or remove banana to serving dish and pour sauce over the top. Serve with a scoop of ice cream if you choose. Similar to Bananas Foster but quicker and easier.[/size]

I wonder if this would also work in a frying pan? It sounds good! But I'm not sure breaking out the BBQ grill and lighting charcoals, etc. just to fix myself a banana or two really sounds all that quick OR easy. I'll have to try this for sure in a pan - without the peel - and see how it turns out. I'll bet it'll be yummy yummy that way too!

You could do it without the peel in a skillet. Might do angle slices on the banana first or slice it lengthwise for easier and faster cooking.
Or just throw in the oven on broil or under the broiler if you have one with the peel and foil of course.
It's great if you are already grilling, and would go good with Hawaiian or Jerk Chicken.
