Fried Apples
2 Granny Smith apples pinch of salt 1 tablespoon butter 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon or a bit more depending on your taste Wash apples ( do not peel), core and slice thin. The more uniform the slices the more evenly the apples will cook. Melt butter in skillet, add apples, cover and cook on medium low heat until apples begin to make juice. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Cover and cook until apples are tender and juice begins to thicken. Stir often to prevent sticking. If apples get too thick before they are done add another spoonful of butter.

These are great as a side dish for pork chops. You can also use them as a topping for waffles or pancakes.
