Hi Debbie:
Interesting with the "Chocolat movie". I LOVE chocolate VERY MUCH. I have always perceived the cacao and chocolate as a very exotist product because it came from Central and South America. Think the Spanish conqueror of Aztecs brought the cacao bean to Europe in the 16th century. In Denmark the most welknown Factories of Chocolate was "Toms Fabrikker", "Galle & Jessen" and "Anthon Berg". "Anthon Berg" started in 1884. It is hard times in the Danish business world, so the 3 companies merge to 1 company: called "Anthon Berg".
They made fine and great chocolate products, for example: 1. A special exotist dark chocolate called "Grand Cru", it is made by beans from Venezuela.
2. Small tart/pies of marzipan with chocolate and fruit: plum, grape, strawberry.
3. Tiny chocolate bottles filled with liquor.
Danish chocolate are made in the same fine quality as for instance the Lindth & Sprungli chocolate in Switzerland.

I like chocolates on occasion but they have to be really good ones. I loved the movie but not the chocoholic that my husband is. Lindt does make good chocolate so I would imagine Danish chocolates are very good.
